This is going to be our first Blog,So It became important to decide what should we begin with!After spending almost twenty years in Media and Entertainment business,We decided to look back at all those gone years of our industry and to compare with today of our industry.We can do it for News and Entertainment both.Today we decide to start with Entertainment.The business of Production houses and the GECs.Let us share in the very beginning:We are extremply positive about the today of this industry.
Why!!!Simply because the change is coming.Simply because the good things are happening and Its time to look forward.Simply because this is the time we should focus what to do next as that will bring in bigger changes.The mood and the atmosphere is perfect for doing same things differently or doing different things differently.
Yes,We heard a lot from the nation for making not up to the mark stories.Yes,We were bombarded with questions about the morality of our industry wherever we went.Yes,We had no control over the situations around us.Yes,We all were students of a developing and growing industry where even the leaders were growing with the growth of Entertainment Television.Take the example of Ekta Kapoor -She started with thing A,She did thing B and now she does thing C in Television and moves on to do thing D in films.She is a perfect example of growth.Hers is just an example to explain the growth of our collective learning.

All our seniors!! We made them sit at home and lost their creative wisdom.
The knowledge of Creativity,The knowledge around Creativity! Speed of Deliverance took away the opportunity to get the knowledge and it got reflected in our work.
Time to train people.
A moral responsibility towards our deliverance of stories..Stories became products that are launched!
The sales and Marketting helped a lot but It also almost snatched away the innocence of story telling.

Why!!
Because thinking leaders have arrived in GECs,
Because the change is being searched for,
Because a changed Cinema is pushing Entertainment Television to act,
Because old is not working,new is a compulsion,
Because formulae are exhausted by now,
Because business needs out of the box ideas at this stage,,
Because mobile screen is on the horizon,
So we see
Creative People becoming powerfull in the business,
Literature coming back to centre stage,
Experiments are being explored,
People meeting people in search of new things,
A restlessness about what next!!
A strong belief to bring in change by some GECs,
A positively academic approach to search for this change,
We don't know whether everyone has felt so or not,But we have sensed so in most of the business blocks of Entertainment Television and believing our sensibility,We see that Change is coming!

Oh,Not so long!!!
TV professionals writing books for the newcomers,
An Institute run by a GEC where actual and practical training is given,
Talent Centres all over the country,
Script Doctors,
Someone innovating new takings for our usual shots,
Expansion of Genres,
Bringing back the seniors,
Training viewers on Weeklies again,
Online Live Audition Agencies,
Creating Content Database,
The list will go on!!!
Our expectations from Entertainment Television industry have increased,
Because,
CHANGE IS COMING!!!

यकीनन बदलाव की आहट का आभास तो हो रहा था लेकिन अब पुष्टि होने लगी है। अच्छे दिन आने को लेकर आशा के दीप जरूर जला दिए हैं परन्तु अनेक शंकाएँ बाथक बनी हुई हैं। टीवी मीडिया को छोटी सी दुनिया कहा जाने लगा है लेकिन पढ़ कर सुकून मिला कि इतनी बड़ी दुनिया को लेकर हमारी दृष्टि में सिकुड़न कैसे आ गई। किनारे बैठे सृजनशील वक्त की धार को देख रहे हैं, कभी तो लहर आएगी। उम्मीदें जगा दी हैं, ताकत भी बता दी है लेकिन ठोस हल शायद किसी अगले लेख में सामने आ जाए ।
